Wine Making Notes
- The maximum score for any wine blend, barrel, and boost is 100
- The maximum sale price possible would be 36 Cortese grapes in a Used Russian Oak barrel and would sell for $58,920 fully aged with 20% Oak Chip yield boost applied.
- You can barrel a wine/blend with only 1 grape in the barrel.

One of interesting aspects of the My Vineyard game is the ability to plant, harvest, barrel, taste, and sell your wine. With some 46 different grapes to choose from, blending different wines can be a fun and creative experience. There are even a few "secret recipes" in the game to try and find.
Look at the information under the other tabs and start creating your own blends today…
Cheers!

*Due to this barrel's short aging duration, it is not very profitable.
Boosts
The effects of boosts are not cumulative.
Whenever multiple boosts are applied to an object, the bonus provided by the highest boost is used. For example, if both Apple Chips and Oak Chips are applied to an aging barrel of wine, the barrel's value will be increased 20%, not 25%. In this instance, players cannot boost the value further by applying multiple Oak Chips.

Final Wine Barrel Sale Price
The final sale price for a barrel of wine (aged and ready to sell) is a FIXED equation and can be calculated in a spreadsheet or with a tool before you barrel it.
Final Sale Price:
Sum up each grapes yield value put in the barrel
+ Add the yield of the barrel chosen
x Multiply by the highest yield boost applied to the barrel.
= That is it!
Multiple yield boosts do not increase value… only the highest boost is considered. Extra aging time in barrel after “ready to sell” (glowing) does not increase score or yield value.
For example, figure the sale price of a typical blend or barrel…
12 Cabernet at $158 yield = $1,896
12 Merlot at $11 yield = $132
Total grapes = $2,028
Use Nevers Oak barrel yield = $4,200
Sale price of barrel w/o any yield boosts would be $2,028 + $4,200 = $6,228
If I added the Apple Chip 5% yield boost… 5% x $6,228 = $311
(remember, boosts are not additive… only max boost put on barrel will count)
Sale price of barrel with apple chip boost would be $6,228 + $311 = $6,539

Grape Scores
These are the best estimates for the new score ranges (after September 10, 2010) you can expect from the grapes you harvest and barrel. The score is randomly picked from the range for the scoring calculation. With wine blends, a score from the highest grape score range in the blend is used, even if it is only a single grape. Note that these scores are based on a player at level 60. Lower player levels have scores proportionally less. We are gathering infomation at this time to add this factor to the charts. (updated 11/1/2010)
Wine score at barrel sale = Grape score (random from range) + Barrel score (random from range) + boost score (if any)

Barrel Scores
The type of barrel adds a component to your overall score. The more expensive the barrel, the higher the score.
Plastic barrels adds 0 to your score
Canadian barrels adds only 1 point to your score
Redwood barrels adds 4 points to your score
Eastern U.S. barrels adds 7 points to your score
Used Steel adds 10 points to your score
Oregon adds 11-13 points to your score
Vosages adds 14 or 15 points to your score
Stainless Steel adds 16 points to your score
Toasted East U.S. adds 17 points to your score
Hungry adds 20 or 21 points to your score
Nevers adds 22 or 23 points to your score
Toasted Oregon adds 24 or 25 points to your score
Troncais Oak adds 26 or 27 points to your score
Toasted Hungary adds 28 or 29 points to your score
Limousin adds 30 points to your score
Used Lativian Oak adds 32 points to your score
Toasted Pacific Northic adds 34 points to your score
Toasted Ukranian Oak adds 36 points to your score
Oak Barrique adds 38 points to your score
Used Russian Oak adds 40 points to your score
(These ranges may be updated as more testing results are gathered)
Wine score at barrel sale = Grape score (random from range) + Barrel score (random from range) + Boost score (if any)
Score Boosts
A Cheddar Boost will add 5 points to your score
A Gruyere Boost will add 10 points to your score.
A Roquefort Boost (costs 1 WC) will add 20 points to your score.
Using both a Gruyere Boost and Roquefort Boost would still only add 20 points to your score… Only the highest boost in a category is used… Others in the same category are ignored and wasted.
Maximum Scores
Also note, there are no guaranteed 100 point scores… when a total score would be pushed over 97 with grapes, barrels, and a boost, it will be randomly selected from the 97 to 100 range “pool”… You will get one of the following
97
98
99
100
Perfect 100 with 1 WC
It seems that the 100 with 1 WC occurrs about 10% of the time from this pool. For example, on the average, if you have 10 barrels that score in the 97-100 "pool", one of these barrels will score the perfect 100 with 1 WC reward.
Visitor Tasting Scores
When a visitor tastes your wine and gets a “score”, that will not neccessarily be the score you would get at it is a separate random calculation using the above facts. So do not get excited or worried by what they report as a score… There are also some bugs in the intermediate tastings scores that will range all over the place.

Wine Tasting Notes
The descriptive notes attached to a particular wine blend and barrel has little predictable elements… It is basically very random. You can barrel 36 of the same grape/barrel combination and have every kind of different tasting note you could imagine…
These are the "notes" uses in the wine ratings
This is the current complete list of the descriptors used by Vineyard for the wine descriptions. These may be mixed and matched in many STRANGE ways… lol… Please let us know if you have seen any others.
